Fields not populating on a catalogue item despite appearing on the relevant form

I've got a situation where Select Box fields within a catalogue item are not getting populated, despite being populated on the relevant form:

When I click on a UI Action that automatically allows the Child Business Application to inherit the values of the Parent Business Application, it seems to populate the values. However, if I raise a request for another request on a catalogue item that retrieves those fields, some of the fields are blank:

I was just wondering if anyone has seen this issue before?

Hi @matthew_hughes 
Please compare the field types.
If both of them are select box type, then make sure to have same backend value for those choices in the catalog variables.
