Flow Designer create Action

In my developer instance I'm having an issue with creating custom Action in Flow Designer.  When I select create Action all I get is a blank screen.  I'm logged in as Admin, I can copy an Action and rework from there but can't create a new Action

This seems a platform related issue that may require a Case with ServiceNow, however before raising the case I would troubleshoot in the following sequence:

  • Browser Compatibility: Ensure that you are using a supported browser and that it is up-to-date. ServiceNow recommends using the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge for the best experience.

  • Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause unexpected issues. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then attempt to create the custom action again.

  • Check System Status: Verify that there are no ongoing system issues or maintenance activities that could be impacting the functionality of Flow Designer or the creation of custom actions. You can check the ServiceNow System Status page or any notifications in the instance.

  • Test in Different Instances: If possible, try accessing Flow Designer and creating custom actions in a different ServiceNow instance (e.g., a personal developer instance or a sandbox instance). This can help determine if the issue is specific to your current instance.

  • Review Browser Console: Open your browser's developer tools (usually by pressing F12) and check the console tab for any error messages or warnings that may provide insight into the issue.

  • Permissions: Confirm that your admin user has the necessary permissions to create custom actions in Flow Designer. Ensure that there are no role-based restrictions or custom ACLs preventing you from accessing this functionality.
