Flow Designer: How to request a second approval without resetting the first?

I've been trying to use Flow Designer as much as possible, but I'm rather new to it. I've used Workflow extensively in the past.

I'm trying to request two approvals in stages. If the first approval passes, I want to request an approval of another user. I have it all working except for one oddity: When the second approval is created, it turns the state of the first approval back to "Requested."

I want the state to remain "Approved." How can I create the second approval without resetting the first?

In regards to your question, I think I saw this issue before somewhere but wasn't sure what caused it. So I search something like 'ServiceNow flow designer second approval requested' and it was one of the top results.
