Grant access to others to edit reports on dashboard?

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to grant others the ability to edit reports from a dashboard I've created. I shared the individual reports with the user and the group the user is a member of. In addition, I shared the entire dashboard with edit access. However when they attempt to select configuration to edit the dashboard reports the pencil icon is not visible on each report.

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Hi @Gemma4 ,

In which scope the dashboard is created in?

At this point of time I can only think of this issue where the dashboard was created in different scope due to which until n unless if u r not in that scope u will not get the edit option or plus icon on top right corner.

Thanks,

Danish

Hi @Gemma4,

I am guessing the other users do not have the admin role.

I believe there are 2 ways for them to modify the report:

  • Update the 'Created by user' field of the report record. Note that this only allow that particular user to edit the report (unless you have admin/report admin role)
  • Grant Report Administrator [report_admin] role

Cheers

EDIT: apparently there are 2 roles that can do this, refer to the following article - https://www.servicenow.com/community/platform-analytics-forum/is-there-a-way-to-share-reports-with-e...

Hi @Gemma4 ,

I would guess it's due to lack of roles for the users that you have shared the reports with. You can see the different report roles below:

As you see above, the users should as a minimum have the role "report_group", as this will make the users able to manage reports that are shared with their group.

Hi @Gemma4 ,

Please check whether users have the basic roles to access report or to edit the report,

These are some of the roles available but try giving report_user which should give user access to create or edit report
