I have the quantity and price of a catalog item displayed in an OOTB widget on the catalog form, but when I increase the quantity, the price remains the same. Is there a way to get the price to increase as the quantity increases?
(Also I can't get the price to change from pounds to dollars, does anyone know what controls that?)

We don't have the functionality in OOTB to display the pricing as per Quantity changes. It will calculate the overall pricing during submission only.
But you can refer this link to achieve through customization.
You can change the currency displayed in cat item by the following step,
1. Check on the edit button of Price field
2. Change to your required currency and give the type as fixed(single currency) so it will reflect the same in catalog item too.
