Below will be the structure to have three variables in a single line:
Red marks are the Parent Container, Green marks are the 1st child container, and Purple marks are 2nd child container.
If we put a variable with order 53 (according to above image), then that will be fourth one in that line. Otherwise there will be a blank space.

You can have three variables with same size in a single line. But in that case you have a space of a same size variable as blank space.
Below image I am marking the blank space in yellow:
So basically you are creating a space of four, but keeping only three variable.
If you want this, I can provide you how to do it.
This is the only way you can place three variable in a single line, otherwise you have to keep two only.
