Homepage search does not work with special character

Hi everyone,

I am facing a problem with search function on ESC portal.

Search function does work fine when I type normal word or number, however it does not work with '%' character.

For example:

We have an article having title "30% ruling".

When I search with '30' or 'rulling', no problem. 

When I type '30%' or '%' it does not show any article.

Any one know where I can configure and fix.

I tried this in SP and it is working but in ESC is not working. Not sure why , even I copy pasted the full text.

Seems it is a known issue to SN. We cant do much here.
