How can the reference popup window be resized?

I have a requirement to resize the popup window that appears when clicking the search button on a reference field. The users feel it is too small and they find it annoying to resize the window manually, but it always resets to the default size the next time the button is clicked.

Is there somewhere in the system that can resize the OOB popup windows?

Unfortunately, you are unable to change the size of that popup.
