How discovery will help us to discover my website which is running on hostinger server.

Q. For testing perpose whether my discovery setup is running proprly or not?
I want to discover my website which is running on hostinger server. Can we do that.? Please help me.

Hi @Prahlad Kumar, yes and no. With Discovery you can scan your Server there the Website is hosted if you do for example a Quick Discovery against the IP Adress. If you use a common Webserver then you will see the Server and the Webserver (e.g. IIS or Apache) in your CMDB. Prerequisite your MID Server has connection and Credentials for that server. With Service Mapping (vertical Discovery) you can create an Application Services with Entry Point is your Website. An then you will get what you expect. But also here same prerequisites.

Hi @Daniel Borkowi1 Thank you for your reply, but My website is running on a shared Linux server (Hostinger / Namecheap.) In this case, I want to discover this website with my server in ServiceNow using an IP address. Can we do that?

Please help me tho know the process step. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Prahlad Kumar, do you have access (sudo) to the Linux server? If yes, but in the credential in the Credential table and start Quick discovery at the IP address (horizontal discovery), see Docs. Additional you can create a Application Service for Service Mapping (vertical Discovery) see Docs.

Nevertheless you need to setup a MID Server first which has access to your website and infrastructure behind (see MID Setup).
