I can see that Washington DC now has the 'Save as Draft' button configured for catalogue items. However, I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm how the 'Save as Draft' button is configured and setup because I'm wanting to look at this feature in more detail because I want to understand how it works.

Hi @matthew_hughes ,
The process looks something like below :
Enable catalog item requesters to save the drafts of the catalog item forms on the portals, such as the ServiceNow® Employee Center and ServiceNow® Service Portal, and on the Now® Mobile app.
Requesters can save the drafts when they come across situations, such as lengthy forms and requesters that don't have enough information to submit the record but don't want to discard the forms. They can save the draft and start editing from wherever they left off. Requesters can access the saved drafts from the My Request widget in a new Drafts tab.
Save a draft of a catalog item while requesting it on the Employee Center, Service Portal, and Now Mobile.
Before you begin
Role required: requester
About this task
If enabled, save the draft if you don't want to discard the form and edit it later. For example, this procedure explains how you can save a draft in Employee Center.
Procedure
- Navigate to All > Employee Center > IT.
- Select the item that you want to request and start filling the form.
- If you want more information to fill the form and want to save it, select Save as Draft.
Your draft is saved. You can access the saved drafts from the My Request widget in the Drafts tab.
If you open a new but the same item to request, and the draft of the item is already saved, you get a message stating that the draft of this item exists. If you want to save the draft of this new item as well, you must give a unique name to this item in the Save as draft field, and select Save.
The Drafts tab shows all the draft items related to the same item name.
- Open a draft item that you want to edit, and if you still don't want to submit it, select Update draft or if you want to submit it, select Submit.

I understand that, I mean I'm wanting to know where the drafts are saved. Where are the system properties for Save as Draft?

Save As draft like button we have the same way like we have submit. It is some native code.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

So there's no table in ServiceNow that stores the drafts? It would be great to know how buttons such as 'Update Draft' appears.
