how to add a field on child table from a parent table

i have created a field u_developer in my parent table (u_journalist)

no i need to add the same field in my child table (only the field not the value)

what are the ways to add it.

Hi,

When you have parent child relationship like task->incident the all parent fields are available in child tables.

Have you extended child table from parent table of you created standalone table ?

soory, yes its an extended table and field present in the table but not on the form 

do i need to configure it from form layout?

or is there any other way?

Yes, you need to configure form layout of Child table to add additional fields on form.
