How to add atachment to catalog item description

Hello Everyone,

 

I have added an PPT to the catalog item description as a clickable link but it is only downloaded by the ITIL users and customers cannot download it how to make it also accessible to Customers?

Currently I have attached the ppt to sys_attachment and accessing it using sys_id in the description

Hi @Arundhati ,

 

Open your Record Producer / Catalog Item and attach your file (PPT/XLSX) directly to that record using the paperclip icon — if you haven't already.

 

In the Description rich text field, select the hyperlinked text (e.g., "CI Bulk Upload Template") and click the chain/link icon in the toolbar.

 

In the Insert/Edit Link dialog that opens — leave the URL field empty. Scroll down to the "Link list" dropdown at the bottom.

 

Select your attached file from the Link list dropdown (e.g., CI Upload Template.xlsx). Click Save.

 

Click Update on the catalog item record to save changes.

what do you mean by customers?

what role they have?

Users have access only to the Service Portal or frontend
