How to add specific news in the featured news widget on Employee Center Pro.

Hi, I have a similar question - I've added featured news to EC pro in my PDI, but I am unable to create a publish plan that targets that widget in that location - when I select the EC pro dashboard in the publishing menu the widget does not show up as an option.  On the home page I continue to see "no featured news to display".
