How to call RESTMessageV2 from the UI Page?

I created a UI page and then called the GlideAjax which in turn calls a script include .The Script Include has a custom RESTMEssageV2 implemented and due to some reason the part where RESTMessageV2 is called is completely ignored ?

Any ideas on why this is happening ? Also whats the right way to call a RESTMessageV2 server side action from the UIPage ?
