How to configure Duration field for open HR Cases

Hi All
I have to make duration field to be updated for open HR cases. Currently it is calculated based on HR Case opened time and HR Case closed time only. Please help me if anyone know how.

What would you like to calculate with the duration?

If it is about reporting, I would create a metric definition.

If it is about SLA, I would create an SLA instead of creating a field on the HR Case.
