How to configure search in Core UI to search short_description of sc_req_item

When searching for a RITM with title "Add new dashboard for metrics related to SLA breaches", if I try and search for this RITM by typing "metrics related to SLA breaches" into the search widget in the upper right hand corner, it does not list this RITM in the search results.

Where would I go to tune search so that this search widget properly spiders fields like short_description and description in tables like incident, sc_request, and sc_req_item so this search capability is useful to a person that doesn't know the RITM number, but knows the title or some other string keyword that they'd like to use to locate a given RITM, INC, REQ, etc.?

Hi @Brian Whyte

If I am not wrong, RITM is created and now you want to search it on portal by the text, if my understanding is correct , I guess it is not possible to search the RITM / REQ with number or text.

I may not be using the right terminology.  I'm not sure what the appropriate name is for the part of the Service Now where users with itil privs can view all the details and work with RITMs, INCs, etc.  I thought it was called the Core UI, but maybe it's called the Portal.

I've included a screenshot of the search widget I'm using if it helps on what I'm trying to configure/fine tune.

Hi @Brian Whyte

This is called Global Search and it is native view of SN. Please have a look in to Global Search properties.

I am able to search with single word

Hmmm, yeah doesn't seem to work for me. Can you grab a screenshot of your Global Text Search properties so I can compare?  Do you have any indexes set on short_description in the sc_req_item table?
