Hi,
I have an Archive Rule that needs to be removed, not deactivated. It has no associated runs or archived records.
The system won't let me delete it nor the associated archive table.
There are no ACLs on the table nor Application File table. When trying to back out the update set, the system will show a message that it is unsafe to remove the records.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance!

Hi tim,
you can delete archive rules that are deactivated. So first you need to deactivate it.
As you can see in the screenshot below I have selected 2 archive rules( one active and one inactive) but it is allowing me to delete only deactivated one.
Read more here: Stop an active archive rule (servicenow.com)

Hi Anurag,
thanks for your swift response!
The rule is inactive & I can't find any chunks.
I checked: None of the archive rules could be deleted.
Backing out the update set I created the changes in showed this error:
"This version will not be backed out because the system has decided that this it is not safe to do so. This is a system record and there is no previous version to back out to."

In my PDI I just tried to create a test rule and delete it, was able to do it successfully.
I wonder if this is not in the source instance where it was created but added in via an update set, can you see if you can delete it in dev (or where it was actually created)?
If you cant delete it as admin then I would say just raise a Hi Case and see if they can assist.

I created it on the same instance. It's strange, a colleague of mine deleted an archive rule on a PDI successfully too. Thanks nonetheless!
