How to edit message in SC Catalog Item widegt

Hi recently we have upgraded our instance to Madrid, and there were some issues with "SC catalog Item Deprecated", so we changed the widget to "SC catalog Item".  but now we had a message which was displaying after the item was submitted in "SC catalog Item Deprecated" which is now not showing in "SC catalog Item".

We did a few modifications in the "SC catalog Item" but are not able to get the message.

Can any body let me know how can we edit the widget to get this message.

Hi there,

Of course you would have to clone the widget, though is possible! We also noticed that there is NO message at all if you submit a record producer.

You would have to change in the Client Controller / Client Script:

spUtil.addInfoMessage($scope.m.requestSubmitted);

Into for example

spUtil.addInfoMessage($scope.m.createdMsg + ' ' + a.number + ' ' + $scope.m.trackMsg + ' <a href="/sp?sys_id=' + a.sys_id + '&view=portal&id=ticket&table=' + a.table + '">' + $scope.m.clickMsg + '</a>')

We also changed the m.trackMsg in the Server Script into:

m.trackMsg = gs.getMessage("track using 'My Tickets' on the homepage or");

No worries. Let me try to explain it more.

By default, for Catalog Items, you would get confirmation message "Thank you, your request has been submitted.". For Record Producers, no confirmation message.

The confirmation message for Catalog Items, comes from the Client Controller / Client Script, where it is stated:

spUtil.addInfoMessage($scope.m.requestSubmitted);

This calls Server script part:

m.requestSubmitted = gs.getMessage("Thank you, your request has been submitted.");

So this is your start for what to change in the widget. Of course if you want to change the widget, you have to clone it.

We tried to make this m.requestSubmitted message dynamic. A bit like what you are describing, with a ticket number, with a link.

We choose to do it the below way in the Client Controller / Client Script. Though, you are free to change this in whatever you would like it to be.

For this we also added to the Server script:

m.trackMsg = gs.getMessage("track using 'Requests' in the header or");

The spUtil.addInfoMessage($scope.m.requestSubmitted); code is used in multiple places in the widget, so you have to change it more than once. In our widget we did only on two places, because we only use the Submit Request Method without redirect. That could already be why copy/pasting the code is not sufficient. Though, you could get a good idea of what to change while looking at the code I pasted.

For what I mentioned about Record Producers not having a message at all. This is in the out-of-the-box situation, with Request Method Submit and no redirect. This is caused by:

As you can see, in this part of the code there is simply no broadcast and no spUtil.addInfomessage!

If willing to change this, just look at the code I pasted. An example is within there on what you could do.
