How to Enable Notification Bell Icon in SN portal

Hi,

We have a requirement to enable the notification bell icon in SN portal in our enterprise platform.

Currently, this functionality is available in my PDI, where the bell icon is visible in the ECS portal and working as expected. We would like to enable the same feature in our main instance.

Could anyone please help me understand the steps required to enable this functionality, or guide me to the relevant configuration/documentation? Any assistance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi,

The notification bell in Employee Center is typically provided by the Now Experience Notifications framework and isn't enabled by default in every instance.

A few things to check are:

  • Ensure the required Employee Center and Now Experience Notifications plugins are installed and active.

  • Verify that the Notification Center component has been added to your Employee Center header in UI Builder.

  • Compare the configuration of your PDI and enterprise instance, including installed plugins, system properties, and the Employee Center experience.

  • Confirm that the appropriate user roles are assigned and that notifications are being generated for the logged-in user.

If your PDI is working as expected, comparing the UI Builder page configuration and installed plugins between the two instances is usually the quickest way to identify what's missing.

I hope this helps!
