How to import a REST Message Definition

Hello,

I am trying to import a Web Services Outbound REST message definition which I exported as an xml file. I don't see an import option anywhere. Do I have to create a datasource (??) and attach this XML export file in order to import it?  I am working with the Developer Instance. I am super confused.

Thanks
Jazz

You have to set the state of the update set to complete. And you will see a link called export to xml as shown in the screenshot.

If you have already created the update set and set it as current update set, it should have captured the rest message artifacts. Now in order to export the entire update set as an xml,  go to local update sets and open the record, you will see a related link called "Export to XML".

Abhinay,

I am still having issues and I am wondering if it is because I am using the Developer Instance. I see three local update sets with one being attached to an application and the other two being Global. I did make my new Update Set current but when I go in to the record I don't see the option 'Export to XML'. However I do see the option Export -> XML (This Record). Is that what you are referring to? When I Export it to XML I don't see all the pieces being exported. What gives?

I have worked on quite a few ETL tools but this is just overly very circuitous. Every tool comes with a packager where you can pretty much create a container that can be moved between environments but SN forces you to export pieces from a database table which is extremely cumbersome.

Hope to hear from you with a possible resolution.

Thx

Jazz

That did it. I do see the link now and the export file has all the definitions.

Thank you very much Abhinay.
