how to limit the access of service portal widget?

I want the only user with ITIL role can see the "Community" section. I can do this easily on Kingston because Kingston has the "Role" field to control the access. But I don't know how to do it on Istanbul.

You can still restrict the widget with the roles. We are also on Istanbul and I can see the roles field on the widget form.



If you don't see the field on the form right click on header Configure-->Form layout and pull the roles field to 'Selected' slush bucket.

There is a role field on the widget but not on the widget instance.



Just to hide the "community" section I need to put the restriction on the widget instance, not on the widget.


Any idea how to put the restriction on widget instance?


You can restrict it at widget level itself. Uncheck the Public box and assign the role as itil and update it. It should then start showing to ITIL users only.
