Could someone tell me how to make "Resolution code" and "Resolution notes" of the Incident form NOT mandatory?

I checked the UI Policies, but could not find the policy for that rule.

Out of the box, there are two places where the system makes the "Resolution code" and "Resolution notes" mandatory on incident resolution/closure:

  1. A Data Policy "Make close info mandatory when resolved or closed".
  2. A Client Script "(BP) Close Mandatory on Close or Resolve" that ensures that resolution code and resolution notes are mandatory onSubmit.

Inactivate these two and see if it works for you.

I don't know if it was due to the update but in my case a Client Script appeared with the following name “Validation Resolution Information (Case)”. I leave it in case it helps someone😁

Hi Aki,

To make "Resolution code" and "Resolution notes" of the Incident form mandatory.

There is OOTB data policy defined.

search with text : Make close info mandatory when resolved or closed.

regards,

Sagar.

Hi Aki,

out of the box this ui policy does this

Name - "Show close code and notes if closed or resolved"

Mark Correct if this solves your issue and also mark 👍 Helpful if you find my response worthy based on the impact.
Thanks

Hi,

They are only mandatory when the state changes to Resolve or closed.

So do you want this to be done in this state. Not a good idea.

If they are mandatory in other state then i can understand.

Thanks,
Ashutosh
