How to make Resource Plan field mandatory in Time Sheet portal

Hi All,

When we add Time Card to Time sheet , there is Resource Plan field as shown in below screenshot. I want to make it as mandatory field. I have made it mandatory for Form view. But I do not know how to do it for Time sheet portal.  Please help.

Hi @Talya ,

You can create a Data Policy on Time card table to making that field mandatory. As normal UI policy wont work with Time sheet portal. I tried creating one and have attached the screenshots, let me know if you are struck somewhere.

Hi @VARUN37  - this is quite helpful as I have a similar use case. How did you bypass the Data Policy Exception error message? I need to make Rate type mandatory, but only when the time_card category is project/project task. I created a similar Data Policy, however the system prevented me in adding a project/project task time card. 

Any ideas would be welcomed!! Thank you

No need to reply on the above, managed to make it work by adding a condition related to State (state=submitted) and now it lets me add time cards, but prevents the system to put the time card in submitted if this field doesn't  have a value. Good to know I was on the right track. Thank you

Hi @PaulaaO  - I tried to replicate what you did here but was still able to submit the time card. Just submitting hours for each day and not having the error you've encountered when submitting.
