How to populate cmdb or ci using import sets

Hi All,

Can any body explain me steps to imports data into cmdb table using any cmdb table

Hi Shilpi,

Please follow below steps for importing data from import set to cmdb table

1. Go to System Import set application

2. Click on Load data module

3.create staging table & import file

4.Click on create transform map

5.Select target table in which you want to store data.

6.there are two option like mapping assist & auto mapping. use automapping when staging table & target table fields are same.click on mapping assist & map field of staging table & target table which are not map in automapping.

6.click on transform. select transform table & transform.

7.if want to check data which is imported into target table,click on transform history.

Hi shilpi ,

if your data is in excel-sheet then use import sets to import it into the servicenow cmdb table.

1) create import set and import data from the excel sheet using load data module of import sets.

2) create a transform map and select the target table i.e any cmdb table e.g cmdb_ci_computer.

3) in transform map first auto map the matching fields and after that with the help of mapping assist map the other fields from which you intend to import data in servicenow.

4) after that run transform and check the logs and also check if the data is inserted into table or not.
