How to populate the sys_name (Display name) on a Catalog Item

Hi,

The Display Name on a Catalog Item is write protected, since the value is calculated. Does anyone know how this value is calculated, or how it can be populated somehow? In the Dictionary there is no Default Value nor a Calculated value.

Hi,

I'm not fully understanding your question. The display name for the field is protected, because changing it would change the name of the catalog item in the system. To change the catalog item name, you'd go to Service Catalog > Maintain Items and then click the record for your item and change the name.

Hi Allen,

The issue is a translation thing. On the DEV and PROD instance the name of a Catlaog Item is in english while the sys_name is in Japanese. This is done by translated text. On the TEST instance however the sys_name of the same catalog item was still in English. even though the same translated text records are there. That's why I was wondering if the sys_name could be adjusted somehow.
