How to report on service catalog "subcategories'

Hello,

In the service catalog, I have a category titled "Invest Systems".

Within that Category, I am adding 'sub categories' - this might not be the correct term, but it's categories within that category.

In the screenshot you can see how it's setup.

I am trying to report on this, and am having no luck.

So i need to be able to report where Parent Category = Invest Systems and "Sub Category" = Tech tools.

 I am reporting from sc_req_item table. Nothing I am doing is allowing me to see the relationship between the Invest Systems Category  & the related Tech Tools.. 

Can anyone help?

I think im missing something couldnt you write a report like this

Hello,

I feel like I'm missing something too.. I started at the most basic level & just tried to filter on the Item Category parent = Invest Systems and I am getting no results. I am really confused why this isn't working.

Somehow I think it was an issue w/ the way the category was setup. I fixed that and now I am able to report on it. Thank you!
