How to turn off the dashboard, so it can not be visible in Dashboard searchbar?

Hi @The Matrix 
You can deactivate the dashboard in the par_dashboard table. However, it will still appear in the list as an inactive dashboard, but it will not be visible to users.

(or)
Please remove all sharing permissions from the dashboard or limit access to designated roles only.
Once users no longer have access, the dashboard will automatically be removed from the search bar.

There are lots of OOB dashboard are in place which are protected by protection policy . so instead of turn off, go for hiding dashboard for specific role.

To hide dashboard you must edit its sharing permissions. You cannot delete a dashboard for everyone, but you can restrict it so only administrators or specific roles can see and access it

1. Navigate to Self-Service > Dashboards or Performance Analytics > Dashboards in the left navigation pane.
2. Open the dashboard you want to hide.
3. Click the context menu in the top-left or right corner of the dashboard and select Sharing.
4. Under the "Groups and Users" or "Roles" lists, remove any broad roles (like itil) or groups that grant general access.
5. Ensure the dashboard is only shared with an Administrator group or a highly specific role that general users do not possess.
