How to upgrade a custom app published in store to a newer version?

We have a custom app published to ServiceNow store, currently we are releasing a newer version of the app.

 

The app has custom data tables which have change requests and incident tickets created by our client side app. These tables are created by extending the base ServiceNow tables.


As we are releasing the newer version, what is the procedure for our customers to upgrade the application?

Is it uninstall the previous version and install new version from the store? that might not work, because since we are have data, uninstalling will delete the data.

You will need to raise a Support case with ServiceNow to seek help on this.
