How to validate all fields of stories table list view using OnCell edit script and script include

Hi,
I am having requirement where i need to validate Priority, state, assigned to, points, type, product , epic fields in the list view, so using script include and client script.
Changes made on these should throw pop up message and retain old value.
need help on solving this issue.

Is there a reason why you are allowing list edit at all for this table? Why not just take it away completely?

Requirement is to not allowing users to edit or change values on list view as well

My question was: why just not allow list edit at all. Just turn list edit off for the table.
