HR Case Approvals not showing Short Description in ESC

I have a scenario where some approval types (Requested Items or Changes) are showing the Short Description alongside the number, but this is not working for HR Lifecycle Events cases.

Any guidance on how I can get the left hand pane to show the full number & short description? "HRC0002755 - Recruitment case for Test Admin".
