HTML formatting in Calendar Invite

I have an email template attached to my calendar invite notification. Everything is working, but it seems outlook or "Something" is stripping out my HTML message body when I send it.
I have this:
But, the calendar shows this after I save and open it up in Notepad++:
My end goal is to get a HTML formatted description in that invite. How can I accomplish this?
I already have Content Type "HTML and Plain Text" setup on my email notification. Is it as simple as changing the "description" variable to something else in the iCalendar text?

Change meeting invites sent plain text messages along with the invite.
I've tried to duplicate this with other icalendar invites with no luck. What is the difference?
