HTML Variable pasted image to attachment

I'm trying to use an HTML variable on a Record Producer.  We are using this in the Service Portal.  We know that the users can drag and drop after the submission on the portal summary page but they'd like to be able to do the paste image option with the html variable.  The main need is for the customer to be able to paste an image into the variable field, and have that image attach to the submitted record(which generates an incident).  I've used a run script in the past to copy from sc_req_item table to the incident table, however this seems to be a unique issue I can't figure out.

So, when you paste an image in the HTML box, you do not automatically see the file being attached to the form?

I just tried something similar. Created a record producer for Incident, added an HTML field to the item, did a copy, paste and submit and the attachment came through to the incident automatically.

I hope this helps!

That's what I thought SHOULD happen, however it does not do that right now for me.  I thought I was missing something.

Were you using the portal to submit?

Yes, I submitted the request via the portal. The only difference between portal and UI that I could see was that when I submit via the UI can instantly see that pasting an image results in an attachment. In the portal you don't see that visual clue. This is what I did via the portal:

find_real_file.png

After I submit I see this:

find_real_file.png

And when I go to the record I see the attachment:

Was your instance upgraded to New York, or did it start on that version?
Might be worth opening a Hi ticket for.
