I can't import xml files anymore in the Developer instance, does anyone know why?

I used to be able to activate elevated priviledge for the current session, then download the xml update set file and add content tot he developer instance, now the buttons are no longer visible (although if you hover over the spot you still see the option message and if you click the blank header it allows you to open the 'activate an elevated priviledge' box but the security admin option button no longer works. so the import does not work.   any advise apreciated.

Try elevating your privelages to security admin. You'll probably have to give yourself the security_admin role first.

Unfortunately as described in my original message, the security admin elevation process button is missing in the developer environment.

It was there originally, then an upgrade took place and it was gone. This may be a bug?

Are you using UI16? if so click on your name on the right and there will be a link that says something like "elevate privelages"

Hmm no the system looks like this, hopefully the image has attached. Note the blank spot that still have the message referring to the elevate privileges , (R) click does not give any options to elevate.
