I know, this is like the first thing ServiceNow says not to change any widget. If you have to change, clone it and change.
Now since I have made some changes to "sp-variable-editor". I need to revert to the original code which servicenow wrote, so that it gets updated if there is a patch update. Is there a way to do this?

Hello Vipin,
Please check section 5 on how to revert to OOTB version
Once you do that go to the list view and pull "Replace on upgrade" checkbox and make sure the value is set to true. This will allow the upgrade to not skip this widget.
Let me know if you have any questions.
