If a CI is NOT OPERATIONAL then will it not show in ServiceMapping?

I'm doing Service mapping on a application, in which one of the CI is NON Operational, due to that it was SM was getting failed, I want to continue to do mapping even though the CI is NON Operational.. is it possible to proceed?
