If i create ACL for cmdb_ci table does that affect all the child tables?

I create a new create ACL for the cmdb_ci table that only admins can create records on the table.

Does this affect the child tables?

Like if a person with ITIL role must not create records on the cmdb_ci table.

If there is already an ACL on the cmdb_ci table that gives permission to other roles (non-admins), that should also be taken into consideration.

Remember, even if there are 10 ACLs that have strict permissions, you only need one ACL that opens up access.

Hi Rahul,

As per my understanding yes if there is an ACL on parent table it will affect child table unless there is an ACL on the child table whild will mask the parent table ACL. and priority will be given to child table ACL.

Hello,

Yes it will affect child tables unless child tables have seperate ACLs, if seperate ACLs are there then parent ACLs won't apply to child tables, otherwise child table will inherit parent table ACLs
