Define Data Source

In this step, you specify the source of your data such as an Excel file, CSV file, or another external source before bringing it into ServiceNow. Once the data source is defined, you can create an import set, map fields to the target table, and configure coalescing rules as required.

Hi @MaitriG

"It's a debatable question, actually. 'Load Data' can also be a valid answer depending on how you approach it. However, in my experience, 'Data Source' is more accurate. I recommend checking this in the CSA eBook to confirm.

Hi @MaitriG

Define Data Source – Identify and configure the spreadsheet or external source.

Create Import Set – A temporary staging table to hold the incoming data.

Create Transform Map – Map fields from the import set to the target table.

Run Transform – Move data from the import set to the target table.

Set Coalesce – Prevent duplicate records by identifying unique fields.
