Make sure you're modifying the correct view.
Also, in some cases, a related list will only be visible if there is data. If there are no records, that particular related list won't be displayed.
Refer to the community response below for guidance on enabling the related list when no records are associated with it.
How to make related list visible if no record is added to that related list on Incident form.

are you talking about related list or a field within a related list?
your question is not clear.
are you configuring the related list in correct view?
