In the custom application, needs to change data type field from string to reference on the table, it is showing error

error - "Type change not allowed. There exists data records that are not SysID".

Hi @Chahak kindra 

 

Yes , we cant change the data type easily. 

 

What need to do

- Take back up of data for the records.

- Delete all data of that particular filed.

- Change the data type

- Upload the back up data.

 

If the table you created is not extended , then better create a new field with new data type and move all old field data in new one quick and easy.
