Inbound email to event management

Hi everyone,

 

we are trying to integrate some monitoring tools with ServiceNow through event management, and some of those tools unfortunately do not have any connectors, hence inbound emails have to be sent into ServiceNow.

 

the inbound emails are quite simple,

  • Alert -[some device] is Down --> when a device/service goes down.
  • Alert -[some device] is ok --> when the device/service is restored.

 

now since we have event management in place, creating incidents directly is not feasible. we want to go through the usual event management process, i.e., an event should be created from inbound email...which is to be further converted into Incident and also auto resolved after receiving the resolution mail from the tool. and the incident creation and resolution depend upon the subject of inbound mail.

 

would really appreciate if anyone can guide through the process, or any guidance would really help.
