Does ServiceNow has the capability to use inbuilt translator to translate as I noticed 'mark as default' for ServiceNow translator is non editable.

Is there a way to use ServiceNow inbuilt translator instead of integrating with other tools for translation?

Hi @Balakrishna_ABK

When configuring Dynamic Translation, you may see "ServiceNow" as an option in the translator configuration. However, this does not represent a true ServiceNow-native translation engine. Instead, it is mainly used for language detection in Virtual Agent scenarios and does not provide actual machine translation capabilities. Therefore the "mark as default" setting for the ServiceNow translator is non-editable.

Instead, it is required to use an external provider for actual translations. To enable Dynamic Translation for knowledge articles, agent chat, or other modules, you must:

  • Install the Dynamic Translation and related plugins.

  • Configure a supported external translation provider (Google, IBM, Microsoft, etc.).

  • Ensure you have the required licensing (such as IntegrationHub or Pro SKUs)
