I am trying to add headers and footers through email scripts to the incident notification.
I know there is a static way of just pasting the image in the email body, but i want to do it through an email scripts.
Can anyone help me with the steps to do this including screen shots if possible.

I wonder if Email Layouts may help you? Any particular reason you want to script it?

Hi Jim,
Maintainability, for instance the client wants to change something on the logo or the footer, I should not have to go make changes to 50 odd notifications. Change in a script will reflect everywhere. This would be a best practice.
Now I know there should be a way of doing this through email scripts, not sure how.

OK. Take a look at the Email Layouts then - that will allow you to have a consistent look and feel and can update them all at once.

If you have an existing template for those email notifications (which OOTB, you should), you can add an email layout which is configured to have a header/footer. There is a default Email Layout that you can work off of and duplicate for your own efforts:
https://<your_instance_name>.service-now.com/sys_email_layout.do?sys_id=f03ea9717f1312007f005212bdfa919b&sysparm_view=
These can be found under System Policy > Email > Layout in the filter navigator.
