inline editing for choice lists fields in workspace

Is it possible to set a choice field value inline in workspace?
I have this property set to true
glide.lists.inline_editing_enabled
but I still see this error message: 

"Inline editing is disabled for this list"
On the incident form in workspace, I want to set the "asset action" field on a record in the "affected ci" related list.

Hi,

I believe it should work, but can you double-check that the system property you mentioned is in fact set to true?

Perhaps try logging out and back in?

It is odd that the message is showing, because for me, if the property is set to false, you simply can't do anything.

If you set it to true, then here's a screenshot of me changing a reference field on an Affected CI (related list to Incident):

If it were a permission issue, you'd see something like this:

So I'm curious if the property is set to true and save AND have you tried other field types? Can you change other fields on that related list record?

The property is taking effect because I can change values inline in a workspace list. The problem only occurs on related lists. But it looks like you can change the values in your instance. Which workspace are you in? I'm trying to do this in Service Operations Workspace. I wonder if the setting is workspace-specific.

That's good information to add. I was using Agent Workspace and it was fine there. If you're using SOW, then that's a configurable workspace and I'm wondering if configurable workspaces are where the issue may be. In your screenshot though...it said Hardware Asset Workspace. And in my SOW, the related records appear like this:

Which does show the inline message you're talking about.

However, navigating back to the "Overview" tab and seeing the Affected CI list embedded there, it does work:

So I thought that maybe it was the way the related list is displayed, where in SOW, the related records are from a tree menu on the left, but in Agent Workspace, it's a tab at the top. Then...looking back at your original screenshot of the Hardware Asset Workspace...you access it via a tab (like I did in Agent Workspace). Mine worked, yours didn't...so it may be back to configurable workspaces, but I need to double-check if HAW is considered legacy or not. Too much going on in the world of workspaces to keep track.

Yes, I'm having the problem in both HAM and SOW workspaces. The common thread is that I can't edit the related list inline off of a form view even though the UIs are slightly different between workspaces. It seems like you have the same limitation in your instance.
