Hi All,
1. Should I use the CI's "Install Status" field or "Hardware Status" in the cmb_ci_computer table for all purposes including data update and reporting ? There are many places where there are different opinions to use install or hardware status, but not sure which is the right one to take.
2. If I make the state of the asset to "Retired" and sub state to "Pending Disposal" then the CI's status is not changing as I believe there is no mapping for this in the Asset-CI Install status mapping (if we are using the install status of CI) and I need to create a new mapping. Should the direction be "both" or "asset to ci"?
Thank you

Thanks for the reply.
Should the direction be "Both" if I add a new mapping in the Asset - CI Hardware Status mapping to map the hardware status and substate accordingly if the asset state is Retired ?

How can you have this apply with the new CSDM Life Cycle control? Your solution works, the CI Install Status is updated to Retired, but then the Life Cycle Stage is 'End of Life' and the Life Cycel Stage Status is 'Retired' when it should be 'Pending Disposal'.
I verified this control exists on the life_cycle_mapping table, but it would rely on the Install Status, substatus being updated on the CI. THis would require a custom BR from what I can see plus in this doc SNOW says "The Substatus field of the CI Install Status field should not be used for hardware CIs." which doesn't make sense if they have that control I mentioned.
Thoughts?
