Instance Scan Checks with no Resolution Details or Documentation URL

Can someone please help me understand why "Tables that extend Task" is part of an Instance Scan check?

I noticed a few Instance Scan checks where the Check record has no Resolution Detail and no Documentation URL.

https://YOUR_INSTANCE_NAME.service-now.com/scan_check_list.do?sysparm_query=resolution_details%3DNUL...

And it's really helpful to have at least one of them populated to gain insight into the purpose of the check itself and what should be done (if anything) with the findings.

The "Tables that extend Task" check is listed with Priority=High and has neither the Resolution Detail nor Documentation URL fields populated, and the Name and Short Description fields offer no extra insights either.

To be candid, it's news to me if extending the Task table is considered a poor practice (or at the very least something to be questioned), so I'd really like to see some supporting references so I can understand why this check is there.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Just wondering if I should answer this political correct or just say how I really think about the out-of-the-box instance scan checks...

Well, let's stay nice, they are not so good 🤣

Also a check like this? Just a waste of time and energy...

Kind regards,

Thanks, Mark. I know I made a skeptical face when I saw this.

Just hearing you corroborate what I was thinking is hugely helpful.
