Invalid Reference error appearing on the reference field initially and disappear after few seconds

Hello Guys,
We have a reference field "Customer order no" on the form, whenever the user enters a correct value manually it displays "Invali reference" initially and after few seconds that error message will disappear.
This is causing lot of confusion to users and it shows invalid reference initially for few seconds even though we are entering the correct values manually. (refer below screenshot).
I want to show the invalid reference only for the wrong values and not the correct values initially
Pls suggest me!!

One small update here: yes the table is little huge around (10 lakh records is there any way to get rid of that error initially for correct fields)
I am not getting any solution to fix that issue, Please help

Hi,
Thanks for confirming what I mentioned about huge date in the table.
That might be the reason as there are 10 lakh records(not a small number)
I would suggest you to discuss this with your technical team if indexing on that field might help or not.

Can you please elaborate more on indexing ? Is there any other alternative to fix this issue?

you can discuss and check if ref qualifier can be applied to restrict the records.
