IP Switch discovered with different ip address in DEV & PROD.

Hi I'm having an issue with the Ip Address populated for my ip switch.

In DEV the ip switch is discovered and populated ip address is "172.18.X.X".

But in PROD same ip switch is discovered and the populated ip address is "10.188.Y.Y"

Notes:

1) Both IPs 172.18.X.X and 10.188.Y.Y is present in the Network adapters related list in the ip switch record, in both PROD and DEV.

2) If I run discovery on any of the related network adapter ip, same switch get updated with IP "172.18.X.X" in DEV and IP ""10.188.Y.Y"" in PROD.

3) Time gap between the discoveries in DEV and PROD is around 12-24 hours.

Can someone explain this behavior, and provide the resolution. This "172.18.X.X" should be the IP for switch in both DEV and PROD.

Thanks

Hi @Kieran Anson

We have the same schedule and the same subnet in both prod and dev. And No, IPs are not bouncing between 2, there is only one value.

I did a work around that worked for me it was:

1) In PROD we had wrong IP i.e.  "10.188.Y.Y", so earase the IP address in the PROD for that ip switch and run a quick discovery using correct ip address i.e. "172.18.X.X".

It worked for me.

Do you have two different schedules, one that discovers the 172.18 range, and another for the 10.188 range? If you view the CI's history (assuming auditing is enabled) is the IP address field being updated multiple times with the two IP address values bouncing between depending on when they're updated?
