Is it possible to run CMD or PowerShell commands on the user's computer from Virtual Agent?

We'd like to know if Virtual Agent has the functionality to interact with a user's device so that it can perform actions on a user's behalf. For example, we have some known issues that are often solved by running a group policy update (gpupdate /force) on the machine, currently we are pointing the user to a KB to explain step-by-step how they can do this manually using command prompt, however it would be a much better user experience if the VA could do this on their behalf.

I've had a look into custom controls and I'm not sure I've got the scripting knowledge to create my requirement (nor do I know if it is actually suitable for this). Are there any spokes we could utilise or other ways of achieving this goal?

Many thanks

Rich

I see it.   Within Flow Designer, if you select the Agent Client Collector Spoke, do you see "Restart Agent"?   If not, maybe you don't have the Agent Client Collector Framework / Agent Client Collector Spoke plugins activated?

Then within Virtual Agent, select Action, select Agent Client Collector and Restart Agent.

Thanks Craig, we didn't have the Agent Client Collector Spoke (sn_acc_spoke) installed, after installing it I can see the actions 😊

Hi Ryax1,

Did you manage to implement this? We're after something very similar with the Virtual Agent, clear a users browsers cache etc. Be interested to know how you did it.

Thanks!

How are you doing that ? because running on MID is a risk as it may go down, can this spoke be used for it ?
