Hi @SandeepKSingh
ServiceNow’s Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) uses identification rules to determine uniqueness. If the identification rule includes serial number as a unique key, the second discovery run will update the existing CI (same serial) instead of creating a duplicate. If the IP is part of the identification rule too, and both differ, IRE will create a new CI since it can’t confirm they’re the same asset.
If you found my response helpful, I would greatly appreciate it if you could mark it as "Accepted Solution" and "Helpful."
Your support not only benefits the community but also encourages me to continue assisting. Thank you so much!
Thanks and Regards
