ITOM topis and practice tasks

I am learning ITOM CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping myself without attending any trainings. I have theory knowledge of all these topics but what to practice to get deeper understanding of these concepts. please suggest how to practice and what are the day to day activities of ITOM developer. I have installed Mid Server on VM and on AWS instance as well. Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

I would recommend setting up some up some credentials, credential alias, and discovery schedules. Veryifing that your schedules are running and credentials are able to authenticate. If you have the resources and ability to setup a secondary data source (for example: SCCM) that make for good practice of configuring Multisource CMDB/CMDB 360 and reconciliation rules.
